Paul McQueen is the supervising partner in the Planning, Environment and Land Compensation Team within the Property Services Group.
Paul is a graduate of the University of Western Australia in Commerce and Law, in addition to holding a Masters degree in Planning and Environmental Law.
Paul is admitted to practice as a barrister and solicitor in both the Supreme Court of Western Australia and the High Court of Australia. Paul has been in specialist legal practice for over 20 years and his expertise is in the areas of town planning, environmental and land compensation law. The nature of Paul’s practice involves providing strategic advice concerning the acquisition and development of land and court representation.
He advises on the approval and implementation of development and subdivision proposals, conducts compensation claims, planning and environmental appeals and provides strategic advice and representation in Supreme Court Judicial Review proceedings related to all types of planning and environmental matters.
Paul has lectured in planning law at the University of Western Australia Law School. Since 1996 he has been providing advice to the Western Australian State Government on environmental legislation.
Paul’s industry involvement includes his appointment as honorary solicitor to the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA), chairman of the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) EnviroDevelopment Board of Management and his experience on the State Council of the UDIA. Paul is the national treasurer of the National Environmental Law Association.
