Greg Gaunt has been the managing partner of Lavan Legal since its inception on 3 April 2006 and was managing partner of Phillips Fox Perth for many years prior to that. Greg has practised extensively in the areas of commercial law and property law for over 30 years.
Dean Hely is the deputy managing partner of Lavan Legal and lead partner of the Commercial Advice and Litigation Group. Dean also leads the Insolvency and Reconstruction Team. Dean has over 20 years’ experience working in corporate reconstructions, insolvency and commercial litigation.
Leigh Warnick is a partner in the Corporate Services Group. Leigh’s corporate and governance expertise reflects his experience of more than 30 years in corporate governance and compliance advisory work, corporate investigations and M&A transactions. He also has 18 years’ experience as a director and chairman of listed public companies.
Peter Beekink is the lead partner of the Property Services Group. Peter practises in all aspects of commercial property and has significant experience in land developments, leasing, the acquisition and disposal of assets and the financing of commercial projects. Peter has over 25 years’ experience in property law and represents some of Western Australia’s most significant property developers, planners, financiers and leaseholders.
Geoff Stevens is lead partner of the Corporate Services Group. Geoff practises primarily in the areas of finance, recoveries and general commercial transactions. He has extensive experience in all aspects of finance and, in particular, has worked on significant project, structured and property based financing as well as large recovery matters. He has also acted in relation to projects and acquisitions, due diligence, workouts and reconstructions in the corporate and insolvency areas.
Dan Mossenson is chairman of partners and group leader of the Liquor, Employment, Tourism and Sports Group. He principally practises in liquor licensing and related areas. With over 40 years’ experience, Dan has obtained licences for all types of clients and developments throughout Western Australia, including hotels, metropolitan and country taverns, nightclubs, liquor stores, breweries, wineries, tourist facilities, restaurants, bars, producers, special facilities and wholesalers.
Caroline Brown is a partner in the Corporate Services Group and head of Lavan Legal’s Energy and Resources Team. Caroline specialises in energy, resources, regulatory and competition law. She has provided legal advice to Western Australian and Federal regulators on issues relating to gas, electricity, rail and water regulation, third party access and licensing.
Tony Chong is a partner in the Corporate Services Group. Tony practises in the areas of tax, project finance, commercial transactions and corporate advisory. Tony’s experience includes the management of large projects involving mergers, acquisitions and fundraising. He offers an exceptional level of legal, accounting and tax knowledge, combined with a sound understanding of corporate structures and commercial imperatives.
Alison Robertson heads up the Banking and Finance Litigation Team within the Commercial Advice and Litigation Group of Lavan Legal and is also a partner in the Insolvency and Reconstruction Team. Alison specialises in advising and representing lenders in recovery actions as well as insolvency practitioners across receiverships, liquidations and administrations.
