Nick Stagg is the lead partner in Lavan Legal’s Media, Defamation and Privacy Team within the Commercial Advice and Litigation Group.
Nick has more than 16 years’ experience working in general and commercial litigation, with a particular experience in the defamation, content and publication law areas. Nick has considerable experience running and managing large-scale litigation for significant corporate entities, including media organisations, mining, oil and gas companies and statutory corporations.
Nick advises clients on wide-ranging commercial disputes encountered by businesses on a daily basis, from contractual issues and disputes to cases of negligence and statutory compliance issues. He has experience in administrative law, freedom of information laws, trade practices and commercial law issues.
Nick joined the firm as a partner in September 2008.
He is a founding member of the Perth Press Club Inc., a member of the Western Australian Cricket Association’s Disciplinary Tribunal, a WA Law Society sub-committee member and a Channel 7 Telethon Trust trustee.
