Dean Hely was admitted as a partner in November 1999 and is the deputy managing partner of Lavan Legal. Dean is lead partner of the Commercial Advice and Litigation Group and also leads the Insolvency and Reconstruction Team.
Dean has over 20 years’ experience working in corporate reconstructions, insolvency and commercial litigation. He has worked on numerous major company reconstructions including The Croesus Group, Bulong Operations Pty Ltd, Mead Restaurants and the merger between StateWest Credit Society Ltd and Home Building Society Ltd. This experience, together with Dean’s work in general litigation as well as his work for insolvency and reconstruction firms such as McGrathNicol, KordaMentha, Pitcher Partners, Taylor Woodings, Deloitte, and financial institutions such as Westpac Banking Corporation, St George Bank, National Australia Bank Limited, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Bank of Queensland Limited, Suncorp and other large financiers, have provided Dean with extensive experience in litigation and general corporate matters.
Dean is a member of the Insolvency Practitioners Association of Australia, Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Australian Institute of Credit Management.
