John has extensive experience in major minerals and petroleum projects, government ratified agreements, joint ventures, international sales of iron ore, salt and other bulk commodities, shipping of bulk commodities including long-term contracts of affreightment, native title, and engineering construction and project management documentation.

Before joining Lavan Legal, John was a Partner at Mallesons Stephen Jaques (for 20 years) where he specialised in major projects and transactions in the mining, oil and gas and infrastructure sectors.
